    Triangle Shirt Waist Factory Fire

Don't have a card for box 388 but I found this 1940 vintage card for box 396 @Broadway & 8th St. which is only 2 blocks north & 2 blocks east of box 388 (the red circled units were double co's. on 03-25-1911):  http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1585/box396man.jpg

    Triangle Shirt Waist Factory Fire

Today the response to box 388 @Washington Pl. & Greene St. would be E33, Sq18, E24, TL9, L3, BC6. I know that back in 1911 Ladder 20 was the 1st due truck coming from 155 Mercer St. Back then Ladder 9 was not with E33 at Great Jones St. but further south & east on Elizabeth St. off Prince St...

    E58/L26

I have a card for Box 2872 a couple of blocks west and it had 3 engines on the 1st alarm but like 3511 said, E96 was a Quad back then. Also E60 was 3rd due on the 5th instead of E295, L50 relocated to L47 on the second box card and L38 relocated to L41 instead of L32:  ...

    E58/L26

I don't have any old assignment cards for the NE corner of the Bronx but here is a card for box 2871 at Powell & Pugsley Aves. that was an outlying area in 1955: http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/9540/box2871bx.jpg

    E58/L26

Yes, but going towards E97 there are mostly private homes and smaller apt. bldgs., going towards E90 is a different story as that area is more densely populated.

    E58/L26

There has been a big change in the dmographics of the Williamsbridge Wakefield area mainly because of drug and gang activity on and near White Plains Rd and Edenwald Houses vicinity. There are a lot of private one two family homes mixed in with 4, 5 & 6 story MD's and rows of taxpayers on your...

    2 piece engine co.

I found some info on this in the April 1973 Fire Bell Club News Notes.  Effective at 0900 on March 28, only the following engine companies will be kept at two piece units: E70, 151, 159, 163, 164, 206. The 2nd pumper will be manned by at least 2 firemen at all times and will be in addition to...

    2 piece engine co.

I believe it was E70 on City Island since they ran with a Telesquirt in the 1980's. I know a couple of Bkln eng. co's. near the waterfront were running 2pc's. into the 70's and in Manhattan E2 had 2pc's.
