    Engine 254

What is causing the engine spare shortage? KMEs being down more or fewer spares in the pool? The 2008s were thrown right into the pool basically the day after they came out of front line service. I know Tillers, Squads and Arielscopes are always rough when it comes to getting spares.

    3/31/21 Staten Island 2nd Alarm Box 2033

Interesting that 161 was able to get there faster than somebody at either 165s or 159s quarters. This is a long haul for 161 to be first in. Much respect to them in stepping up like this when the borough was low on resources and really lacking on local native crews.

    3/31/21 Staten Island 2nd Alarm Box 2033

Also note the EMS units visible in this video. NYU Langone bus which is likely from the Brooklyn campus. Would expect to see SIUH (Northwell), RUMC, and FDNY buses at the call.

    3/31/21 Staten Island 2nd Alarm Box 2033

Not on unusual to see some far relocations on brush season but usually not seeing Manhattan trucks make it onto the island let alone first due to a job on the island. Huge amount of respect to SI Dispatch today!

    3/31/21 Staten Island 2nd Alarm Box 2033

Doubt we will ever see this many relocated units operating on SI at a box. And some very interesting notes: - Companies from three boroughs fill out the initial assignment - both 202/101 red hook raiders operating at the box - E9/Sat 1 means this is the third satellite on the island. - Based on...

    New Seagrave Contracts

I thought the reason for no Pierce went deeper than just the warranty. Heard Pierce isn't as flexible with modifying stuff.

    New Seagrave Contracts

Subtract out the batch of new Seagrave engines that are in the current contract. There is also a chance some of these contracts could have options for more units Congrats to Seagrave!

    New Seagraves

Yes that is the Seagrave facility which has been handling all the FDNY deliveries and warranty repairs for over 20 years.

    New Seagraves

True point on the no good spare squad. The spare pool is 2000/2002 era. The current 8 front line trucks are 7 2013s and 1 2014 (squad 8 ex 165). I personally am a bit surprised we don't see the entire front line fleet replaced on an 8 year cycle like the rescues are now. These trucks are used...

    NYC Hospital Numbers

Not talking about the radio numbers. I know the participating members have assigned radio codes that coincide to the battalion etc. I was talking about the physical numbers on the actual vehicles that can serve the role. SIUH for example has: 5510, 5511, 5512, 5514, 5515, 5520, 5522, 5523, 5526...

    NYC Hospital Numbers

Correct on that. Interesting that the FDNY hospital numbers don't coincide with the hospital 911 participating member ambulances. For example SIUH ambulances on the 911 system are all 55xx and RUMC ambulances are all 58xx

    New Tillers

Jogging my memory so some things might not be 100% correct on this: TL84 became L84 around 2005. TL84s last truck was a 2003 Seagrave Arielscope 75' and went to TL85. TL85 known as Monster Truck as they are the 95' tower on Staten Island were for a time period downsized to a 75' ladder because...

    1/5/21 Manhattan 4th Alarm Box 1797

Pretty sure that policy is still in effect for 151/76. Are there any other houses besides 52s and 151/76 that get the must fill? I thought 54/4 is one.

    New Seagraves

Squad spares are 1998-2002 era as they still have the rotating beacons. Most of the 7 squads had 2000 Seagraves. 18 had a 2002 and 61 had the 2003 with the mural on it. There might have been one or two companies that had the 1998s before being replaced by the 2013's. Anyone know what happened to...

    Engine 65

I'll try and drive around the dealer this weekend to see if it is over there. Can't really see much from the road but sometimes can spot stuff there.
