How is it so hard to make a rig that doesnt have so many problems?
Evidently so!  Actually the majority of the problems stem from the fact that the rigs keep getting more and more complicated.  Part of this is due to NFPA requirements, part is due to the manufacturers try to make their units standout from the others and part is do to trying to idiot proof everything!  Today's trucks are orders of magnitude more complicated than the older Mack CF's that just kept going and going.  Of course all these bells and whistles also add considerably to the costs of the trucks.

The first order of 21 rear mounts should go to. Ladders 137, 156,81, 123, 24, 169, 32, 42, 154, 4, 165, 49, 38, 173, 29, 8, 113, 132, 11, 3, 61.
The add on order of 20 should go to. 84, 80, 125, 128, 43, 116, 151, 10, 140, 55, 176, 56, 27, 126, 78, 134, 166, 30, 108, 112.
Thats if they follow in that order and if any dont got to the rock for training.

Thought I would bring this back up. The list for the add on order.
If you go by this list, it looks like rig #4910 should go to L128 and 4913 should go to L116

Where does L19 fall in all of this? They had a 1999 which was taken out of service and replaced with a used 2001. So they should have received a new rig when the 1999's were replaced but didn't. And now this add on list bypasses them and is replacing 2002's. They must be that stepchild.

Saw L29 last night, they had a spare.  Sounded like a long term thing.  Told me an air brake hose burned through and they found several other air leaks.  It also has a bad radiator, needs to be replaced.  The a/c compressor is also being replaced, it caught fire a couple weeks ago.

Word from these guys.....the new rigs suck.

Our a/c caught on fire also....all the brake canisters were replaced all the air lines for the brakes  the aerial ladder absoluley sucks..the list goes on and on

Did they have any of these kind  of problems with the Seagraves?

I have been reading over and over the comments from the firefighters that work in truck companys that received these new rigs the same problems that other companys have....Instead of the job continuing to get these rigs, put a hold on the contact until ferrara solves these major issues.

Any word on Ladders 3 and 11 on the first order of twenty?

They were in Manhattan for medal day in early June.
