JMO....originally the annual June FD Flea Markets were held at the Keniscoe Dam Plaza in Valhalla NY then moved to Croton On The Hudson NY for a few years until it stopped....when it was at Valhalla we & other Companies used to make the day into a Family picnic/BBQ.... after Croton stopped the Annual one remaining is in Milford Connecticut every Sept called the ENG*260 Muster....they also have a Flea Market & old Apparatus on display.... admission is free but if you are selling there you need a Conn Tax Number  (Vahalla & Croton never required that).... http://www.engine260.org

And there was always an orange light globe somewhere on the telephone pole or nearby so you knew where a box was as you looked down the street in all directions. Today, no more globes, no more boxes and IF there is one, it's a gamble that it functions.

Sometimes you'll see an orange light attached to and mounted above a street light on a corner where there's an alarm box.

WOW, $250.00.

I have a poster from 1977, which was given to me by a member of FDNY Eng 46/Lad 27 after that test closing date. A picture of it has been posted on this site. It has a picture of FF Frank Martinez, Lad 27, and FF Clyde Williams, Lad 25.

I believe Clyde Williams has since passed away but I think he was awarded one of FDNYs Highest Medal for his part in a rescue from the tip of a ladder. I'm not sure if FF Marinez is still around. If so, I would donate that poster to him. Otherwise my future plan is to return that poster to Eng 46/Lad 27, where it originally came from.
