Yesterday we had the honor and privilege of helping to bring our brother Ex-Chief William Moon home! It was absolutely overwhelming to see how many of our neighboring fire departments from across Long Island came to show their respects by setting up dozens of flag arches and details throughout the route of Billy’s dignified transfer. It was also astonishing to see the amazing show of support from within our community as hordes of people lined the streets to pay their respects along the route. The community of Islip and the entire fire service community continue to amaze us and reaffirm the spirits of brotherhood and community togetherness.
