Am I reading that right? Brooklyn with 94 jobs for the month of December? If true - that certainly is a record for recent years. Alas it may be a typo, I’m only seeing 61 jobs in the BK forum.

Guess What ! ! !
That wasn't the only big boo boo I made in the December, 2021 Fire Activity Report.

Thanks to another member here, he contacted me to say;
Willy, "The 5-5 that you listed in the Bronx was from the year 2017" - NOT 2021

Well guys, with a tip of the glass "HAPPY NEW YEAR and here's one more to ya".

(Truth is - I haven't had one drop of booze since 1978).

But it sure did seem like I did this time.

Hopefully, when I do the new 2022 Fire Activity reports they will be more accurate.

According to this forum, the FDNY finished with 1,913 All Hands or greater this year. An increase of about 100 more fires than the previous year, 2020.

Some quick analysis:

Looks like Herb's 2021 numbers continue to demonstrate a slight drop from his reported numbers a few years back (2014 -2017) - see chart below. In 2020 and 2021, FDNY had approximately 1800-1900 all hands compared to a 2000-2300 range 5 or 6 years ago. Multiples remain consistent at approximately 180 per year. Less all hands but consistent level of multiple alarms.

Brooklyn consistently remains the busiest borough, followed by Queens, Bronx/Manhattan (close) and SI - again similar to past reported activity (2014-2017).

4th and greater alarms generally remain to be spread across the boroughs - maybe demonstrating the big ones can happen anywhere.

Yep, during the pandemic with the millions of people not coming into the city from outside the 5 boros the numbers would be down, I was curious how far down.
