H&L147...You are correct....R*2s '67 Mack was the last walk through ......the entire body front to rear was one piece......the '76 Mack came w/a pickup truck size sliding window in the back of the cab & another in the front of the box....guys in the Company removed both windows then fashioned a rubber & canvas sleeve to connect the front & back ....it was flexible enough to allow for the movement between the two......the '82 ALF had a connection sleeve made by the factory.....still just a small window size.

My first post in 10 months....went through some personal stuff...

...as of 9am this morning, Rescue 5's new rig went into service....was there to photograph it as it arrived. Can't believe I beat redlight to it.

It's gonna be back at the shops soon though...they already found a few issues that need working on...

I looked back through some other pictures of the new Rescues and don't see the tread plate on top of the cab in the pictures.  I'm assuming this was an added at the shops.  Does anyone know of all 5 will have it added or is it special for this rescue?

Look at the Ferrara pictures.  It's there.  It covers the A/C units.

Why are the Ferrara rescues coming with stainless steel rims - and the sticks with  painted red rims?  (I know it's not a very important issue, but I was just curious.)

I just realized that the rescue with the box I was looking at in the first picture was the existing one not the new one.  The box on the old one was much larger.

They become Spares

Correct, but I'm not sure we'll maintain all of them as spares.  Some will be stripped for parts and some might be sold at auction.

'cause they're S.O.C., they get all the good stuff  ;)

*Those rims are probably polished aluminum, not stainless steal.

Bling Wagons ?  ;)

As opposed to 'War Wagons'? I liked the rigs better when we were able to 'customize' them ourselves. Now everything is computerized and fragile ...
