Kind of sad to think that R1's is next to go up on the page. I know they are very sad to be getting rid of the Pierce. I had stopped by when I was walking back to my car from the auto show last weekend.

Rescue 5's new Ferrara is the only one of the five new Rescues that does not have Fire Department City of New York written out on the chauffeurs side of the box.

You can bet the farm that one of the new rescues (probably R-1) will be on display this weekend at the PA Fire Expo at the Farm Show in Harrisburg.

No masking the markings? Looks nice, but not as nice as the Pierce.

The Ferrara rescues look fine to me, but I was very satisfied with the Mack / Saulsbury Rescues we had. As long as it carried what we needed and got us where we were going it was a good rig.

Hey, 69 Mets, those Mack/Saulsbury's had a pass through from the back to the cab, no?  Is that the HME/Saulsbury I'm thinking of?  The point is, why NOT have a pass through?  Not that we talk to the boss much in a truck, but he may yell something back while going into a box.

The Mack / Saulsbury Rescues just had a window between the front cab & the 'box'. The HME / Saulsbury Rescues had a crew cab for 4 Firefighters but it too was separated from the front (where the officer & the chauffeur sat) by a sliding window. The HME's did have a walk through from the crew area to the box. These rigs were much longer due to the crew seating area between the front & the box. The HME portion of the rig was not great.

If im not mistaken the new Rescues have MDT's in the back for Firefighters to get the information they need on the run into a box. Also the officers can communicate with the Firefighters in the back through a telephone i think

I believe all the new apparatus have an MDT in the crew compartment so the troops can see what's going on.
