    4/18/23 Manhattan 10-60 Box 0086

It's going to be days or possibly even weeks before they start trying to do anything like that. Right now I'm sure the building is not stable enough to consider putting somebody on top of it to attach a crane to the vehicles.

Charts - Growing Impact of FDNY CFR Runs on Engine Companies

Actually, I think it is a reason to support more engine companies instead of additional meeting on the existing companies. If you had manpower you are just tying up more people for a scene that in most cases doesn't Req that much manpower. By adding additional companies he would have more...

Lexington County SC FD new Aerial Platform. April 2023

I thought by the title it was on order and going to go in service next year but, it looks like it's already delivered or at least ready to be. We are seeing more of the gray roofs around this area also. Kind of a compromise between the white ones and the black ones.

Wilmington NC FD new rig April 2023

Nice looking rig, actually it's kind of old-school in many ways. Conventional door compartments instead of roll ups, conventional ladder rack, no raised roof on the Cab etc. Actually, it's kind of refreshing in many ways.

    SUPER PUMPER 1

While I do think that the they need exists for high-capacity pumpers, I'm not sure that the need exists for one for each satellite company. Especially considering all the new engine companies are 2000 GPM. The original super pumper wasn't used that often and back then the regular engine...

Jackson Mills NJ FD. New rig April 2023

I like the color of the rig but that flag on the front grill is overdone and really in-your-face.

FDNY/DCAS RFP issued for prototype apparatus

I was wondering about that and look to the specifications they say it's good for 300 miles between charges. Of course the way New York City traffic is that could be about 200 hours on some days.

FDNY/DCAS RFP issued for prototype apparatus

You haven't studied much physics have you? You can't get more energy out something then you put into it.

FDNY/DCAS RFP issued for prototype apparatus

Unfortunately, while this was a joke I don't expect it to be too long before something like this actually happens! Between a nationwide push for clean energy, New York's Mayor and the new commissioner it's bound to happen before long!

Atlanta GA FD places order for 12 Spartan fire apparatus 3/30/23

I'm confused what the TDA support units are for. That's a good description on the site but what they carry sounds like the reason that a lot of companies by TDAs. They carried 148 feet of ground ladders and have compartment space. That's like what TDAs do? Is anyone familiar with how Atlanta...

    New/replacement firehouses

I was thinking the same thing, it's going to be an awful lot of office space in the 4 floors above the truck bays of course at least 1 of them may be even 2 will be for bunk rooms etc. but that's still an awful lot of office space for somebody.
