I certainly agree with your sentiment but in reality FDNY is much better staffed than many departments across the country. Many departments are only running with three-man crews, chauffeur, officer in 1 firefighter in their obviously bearing a much worse situation than FDNY. I'm not sure where...
I must be using that new "Compressed Water" so it doesn't take up that much space! ;) I certainly agree with what you said however that there certainly niche for a truck like this if it's really what it appears to be.
They Wouldn't wouldn't hold up with the duty that most FDNY units have! Heck from what I've seen the one in LA have been out of service more than it's been in service.
On the subject of the PD vehicles, I didn't realize that Ford made a 4 door Mustang? That's certainly taking the Mustang down...
I keep hearing stories like this but have yet to hear a reason for. Is it people shortages, delay in delivery of auxiliary pieces of the apparatus or what? I don't think that much more do apparatus is being bought unless it's because of a huge influx of federal money.
Never have figured out that one. It's obvious by how they are set up etc. what department they are for so I really don't understand what good covering up the logo and/or number does. If anybody ever heard of reason for it?
This is close to the top of the list of the most ridiculous ideas I've heard proposed! I laughed when they talk about it would be helpful for the delivery people, I'm guessing that number is insignificant compared to the total number of units that would want to be recharged.
The only advantage...
I've also been an officer for many years (not in FDNY however) and depending on the situation disagree with your point. Many times especially in small departments the only way an officer can keep men save is to be involved in the actual attack. Yes, if he drove the rig quite often would have to...
I actually like the grilles like this 1 with just a pattern in the chrome grill instead of the colored grill flags. I'm sure ones like this hold up much better to and don't Req constant repainting etc.
I personally like this color scheme, it's a halfway point between the white roofs and black roofs. To me at least a black roofs make the entire truck with to dark and the white ones are "just white" and get dirty too quickly.
Haven't heard anything about them but I would assume that things haven't been worked out. I don't believe they would trust her even if you did allow them to keep their positions after the fiasco!
You would think she would get the hint sooner or later! She is going to run out of chief officers...
I just went and looked this up, it happened January 14 this year and fortunately no firefighters were killed or seriously injured. 2 were taken to the hospital for Burns and released soon thereafter. Thank goodness for miracles!
Multiple units from 5 suburban Louisville Kentucky departments fought a fire in a historic building that's part of a car dealership this afternoon. High winds made the fire that looks more difficult to fight along with very limited access to the building.
