    New EMS Divisions

Condition Cars usually correspond with the Station they are assigned to. Exceptions would be such as Station 10 which has Condition 10 and Condition 11.

FDNY EMS Bunker Gear - Why?

The current nomex pants are worn as part of the regular uniform and not only on MCIs. They are disliked as they don't breathe in the least and members sweat constantly. They have no issue with the bunker pants, which are only worn on relevant assignments.

FDNY EMS Bunker Gear - Why?

I could've sworn there was a more recent relevant post, but I can't find it. Anyways, the Rescue Medics will be issued true bunker gear. This is due to them frequently operating on the floor below at 10-77s. Also my understanding is the members are not a fan of the current nomex pants which I...

    New EMS Divisions

I heard an old single engine, which if true limits the potential sites down to like three. But, it's going to take awhile Division 6 while be stood up at Station 4 while their new HQ is being renovated.

    Firehouses built into high rises.

Rumor is that is no longer happening and R*1's quarters will be used for something else. Hudson Yards seems to be alot like WTC (atleast in the early years) lots of vacant square footage. I'm sure the Covid work from home did it no favors commercially. Also residentially, like many skyscrapers...

    New EMS Divisions

Over the course of the last three years the department has increased the number of Divisions to decrease and equalize the span of control over the stations. Essentially making them all the same size. In 2018 there was only five Divisions: Division 1: Manhattan (Stations 4, 7, 8, 10, 13, 16)...

    Firehouses built into high rises.

My understanding is that Hudson Yards hasn't produced any sizable increase in runs for fire or EMS. The gator unit that EMS has there, often goes full tours with no runs.

    Firehouses built into high rises.

While perhaps he should've just restarted that thread, the question was never answered. I'd also add EMS Station 10 to that list.

    Closing companies/Moving companies

Nothing is final until it goes into operation, even then sometimes not. EMS Station 16 had a new station built and then when Harlem Hospital wanted to expand they bought the land and bulldozed it. 16 is back where they started. R*1 is supposedly looking for a new place but we'll see, if anything...
