Some of those walls were removed but they date back to when those houses were built from 1909 to 1924. A member of L146 told me he can see where the wall used to be.

    Ward LaFrance rigs

Thanks 3511, those 1950's Waukesha engine WLF's were notorius for their noisy exhausts but they were fast and maneuvered the city streets very well. Booster tanks leaked and '51 & 52 WLF deck guns had no elevating wheel so members had to improvise when they had to keep it in a set position for...

    A LOOK BACK.

I sent the seller a message because that 1958 Mack spare outside the Shops is a actually a 1962-63 with dual headlights and rear suction intake. The 1965 Mack C's were all diesel with front suction intake and a vertical exhaust stack on the officers side of the cab.

      I know it's yes with the Internationals (commercial chassis) and the Mack R's as they replaced 1950's WLF and '58-59 Mack C's. The WLF Firebrands no, because they replaced older 1936, '37, '41 & '44 Macks, 1939 & 1946 WLF and 1947 Macks & ALF's: E40('46WLF), E42('41M), E46('47M), E82('47M)...

Engine 94 had a 1962 International that was burned up. Engine 294 also had a '62 Int. that burned during refueling severely injuring a firefighter. One of the E. Harlem engine co's. (not sure 35, 58 or 91) had an International that got caught under a building collapse in 1965 or '66 that...

    A LOOK BACK.

Union & 151 (2255) around 1968-69 was one of the biggest South Bronx fires I ever buffed. Super Pumper Tender was unhitched, driven over piles of rubble and used to demolish what was left of a whole city block of tenements and frames. A school was later built on that site. I recall only one...
