They were repairing the body mounts for the cab that got worn out after 16k miles funny thing is it still clunks a little bit over big bumps

It sounds like this service needs to be made a part of regular maintenance each time these rigs go for PMP ... Replace: oil, filters, body mounts.

Thanks for the pictures of the rigs at the Ferrara shop in Little Ferry.
Question - are the rigs sent there for routine maintenance or, in the cases of 132 & 27, were they undergoing major work?

Just and FYI for all of the Ferrara fanboys......

Nearly EVERY one of the 2002 Seagrave rearmounts that are now spares are in service.  The average downtime for a Ferrara rearmount over the last 24 months is roughly 6 months O.O.S. per unit.

The first 2 years of service for these units has been pretty poor.  I think the time for "it's a new design" excuses has run out.  Engineering was flawed in many ways and fit-and-finish has been a problem.

How many more of the Ferrara rear mounts are due to be delivered? Or has the contract expired and is it time for new bids?

Based on this information I'm going to hate to see how they perform when they near the end of their life cycle!  Hopefully the same thing won't happen with the KME engines!

33 and 17 Truck were both using spare T.L.'s at the 3-3 in the Bronx today:

17's regularly assigned rig has been problematic since day one, although better recently.  Remember, it is 8 years old now, another couple years and it'll be up for replacement too.

I take it that it's going to be a permanent replacement?  What's going to happen to your old truck?  Is it going to become a spare or is it going back to the manufacturer?
