The fire broke out around 1 p.m. Tuesday in a six story building on 34th Avenue between 89th and 90th Streets in Jackson Heights.

Do the math and you see that between 550 and 600 firefighters responded to the scene at one point today. The majority of departments in this country don’t have that many total members. And only like 25 - 30 departments in this country have that many on duty at a time.
