I totally agree. I completely understand that the site needs an income stream to support it. I am very grateful to Tom for all he does to run and bring us this fantastic site. But when each selection brings down another add and sometimes when you clear the add it drops you back to where you first started, it is not only frustrating but also limits a members visits by choice. The add rate a year ago was very appropriate and tolerable. Never bothered me. Currently we experience an ad blizzard every time we log on and navigate thru the shoals of advertising.
Download the AdBlock Plus browser and use that instead of your current one. Ive had it for years and while it does make certain sites inaccessible if you dont let them do ads you can always whitelist the ones you trust.
On a desktop or laptop you can add it to Google Chrome as an add-on app and itll do the same thing. Its also a little less cumbersome to work with versus their mobile version.
Now of course Im not saying sites need their ad revenue to operate and the smaller ones need them most but it does help filter out the worst of the worst when it comes to the endless popups, mid-article ads and scammer jibberish.
