Seems like the adds are over coming the website

Every click you have to click out of 3 adds just to type or read something

Is there a way to prevent that?

I know advertising pays for the site. But has to be away to reduce it on the phone

I totally agree. I completely understand that the site needs an income stream to support it. I am very grateful to Tom for all he does to run and bring us this fantastic site. But when each selection brings down another add and sometimes when you clear the add it drops you back to where you first started, it is not only frustrating but also limits a members visits by choice. The add rate a year ago was very appropriate and tolerable. Never bothered me. Currently we experience an ad blizzard every time we log on and navigate thru the shoals of advertising.

Download the AdBlock Plus browser and use that instead of your current one. Ive had it for years and while it does make certain sites inaccessible if you dont let them do ads you can always whitelist the ones you trust.

On a desktop or laptop you can add it to Google Chrome as an add-on app and itll do the same thing. Its also a little less cumbersome to work with versus their mobile version.

Now of course Im not saying sites need their ad revenue to operate and the smaller ones need them most but it does help filter out the worst of the worst when it comes to the endless popups, mid-article ads and scammer jibberish.

I’m glad it’s not just me, the adds are infuriating lately. Have we ever visited a memberships fee? I’m sure some would hate it, but I’m sure if I added up what I spend weekly on coffee and energy drinks I’d be ok paying a fee to continue with the content here.

There’s the genesis of an idea. Maybe an option for ad free for those willing to pay a nominal annual subscription fee. Similar to what Pandora radio does. Either endure the ads or pay the nominal fee .
