68 is a 2004 and 94 is a 2003

E 73 with Reg # 02022 is getting a new 2014 Seagrave....There new rig is already numbered.  There new rig will be one out of the 7 that were added on to the Seagrave contract..

When all is said and done, by the time the add on Seagrave and KMEs are done the oldest first line engine will be the 2008s....

The one thing that bothers me about the new KME rig, although minor, is the really small lettering of FDNY above the headlights under the windshield. Just looks wrong to me, outta place almost like ya gotta squint to see it. I know its minor haha thats just the one thing that really catches my eye. Other than that, nice looking rig - can't wait to see them on the streets.

And the other issue will be the company numbers on the cab doors will be off centered except for a single  digit company......

If they moved the striping down on the doors to line up with the back striping then the numbers could be centered. That would also eliminate that 45 at the nose and would allow them to line up with the lights. That is what doesn't look so good to me.

The stripeing is in the same place as the seagraves, the difference being the door handles are higher on the KME than the seagrave, and the front where it drops own to align with the lights.

I think that was bfd's point.  Instead of putting it in exactly the same place as it is on the Seagrave's they should of put it in a different location to make it look better!  Kind of shows how much KME copy the Seagrave trucks instead of thinking on their own.

Thanks Bulldog. That was my point. I think it would have looked better if they had moved it down and kept it in a straight line. It looks like it would make more room to possibly center the company  numbers also.

I would think FDNY specs where the striping and numerals go to keep the fleet as uniform as possible and the manufacturer has limited or no say in it.

.....I'm thinking there's a little too much emphasis on letters and stripes.  Who cares, I just hope it works so we don't have to swap it out like we do those crappy Ferraras all the time....

Let's just say our Ferrara is so shitty and spent soo much time in the shops we are probably getting another one.  Ours just hit 2 years old
