Who is supposed to receive on this year?

According to Redlight:  " Engine 23 (SP10020) is still waiting assignment, with seven additional units, of the total order of twenty-eight, still not delivered. They are scheduled for assignment to Engines 298, 280, 222, 210, 236, 241, and 231 in that order."

28?  I thought the order was for 71 total.  Are there more for the 2011 model year that are part of that 71?

71 was the total number of pieces from the original, two year contract (31 in 2008, 40 in 2009).  There are 28 pieces for the 2010 add-on contract.

  Engine23 received their new rig last night.  It Will be adorned like the last rig, in honor the men of Engine 23 lost  . Lt C .Garbarini, Fr.Whitford, Fr Marshall, Fr Tirado, Fr Pappageorge, Fr McPadden. May their souls and all the souls lost on 9/11/01 rest in peace.

There's gotta be a big order for the 2011-2012 years, no?  There's a lot of rigs VERY ready for replacement from '01/'02 (including my co's.)

Does anyone agree with me that the FDNY stop apparatus purchases for the time being and focus on keeping the 20 companies open that Bloomy wants to once again close.

Understood but money can be diverted. If 20 companies there will be brand new units just sitting there collecting dust.

I think it was stated before on a different fourm that the money needs to go to what it was alotted to do in the first place. Might not be correct but i remeber hearing that.

NYC has 2 different areas for money use. Operating budget is the annual budget for all agencies. The Capital improvement budget is monies appropriated for large purchases such as apparatus and is separate from operating and cannot be combined into operating budget. These rigs were ordered in the 08/09 year and money has already been used. I hope this helps withhow things are done.

According to Jack Lerch, all 28 2010 Seagrave Marauder pumpers have been delivered and ASSIGNED.

I have not seen any information on the following being delivered and assigned:

E 298, 280, 210, 236, 241, 231

Does anyone have information on these units?

E 298 received their new Marauder II on May 10, 2011

What happened to Engine 330 ? It was in Manhattan  getting towed today .
Probably were parked illegally!  ::)

Actually it was interesting that they had pulled the hose from the hose bed.  That would make you assume they were expecting it to be gone for a significant period of time.

Not just the hose in the hose bed.  The hard suction was gone, the caps for the in & outlets, and just about everything movable was gone.  In addition, it was a commercial tow truck, not an FDNY one.  Suggests to me that it's going back to the dealer for a major problem.

Probably being towed from the shops in Queens throught the Midtown tunnel and heading for the Lincoln tunnel to the Seagrave facility in New Jersey.
