Sadly another "DooWooper" has passed away. Joseph Terranova, aka Joe Terry of "Danny & The Juniors passed away on April 15. Dave White, another original member passed on March 16 of this year as well. Known for their 50's hits of "At The Hop" and "Rock & Roll Is Here To Stay", the group from Philadelphia consisted of Danny Rapp, Dave White, Joe Terry and Frank Maffei. Frank is the last surviving original member. As a side note, the "B" side of "At The Hop" was a song called "Sometimes When I'm All Alone" which is a slow dance song. Give it a listen and see what you think.

I didn't know that one member of the group was a member of the FDNY.

But, this past January, 2019, I went to a Doo Wop Show at the Mohegan Sun Casino. When Willie Winfield came out with the group (the Harptones) he told us that he was 89 years old and needed to sit down while he sang some of their famous hits.

This was one of those hits from that January, 2019 show, done by Willie Winfield and the Harptones.

*** Mr Winfield, Best Wishes for a very Happy and Healthy retirement. And THANK YOU for bringing your music into our lives for some SEVENTY Years. ***

Sadly I report that another singer from "our" days has passed away. The lead singer of "The Lettermen", Jim Pike, passed away on June 9, 2019 from Parkinson's Disease. Jim was 82 years young. I'm sure you'll recall some of their hits, i.e. "The Way You Look Tonight", "Come Back Silly Girl", "When I Fall In Love" to name a few. Rest In Peace Jim and thanks for the memories,
