Okay these are by far not the best pictures I have ever taken. I tried multiple passes by the firehouse, tried running after the truck down 34th and 7th, and just missed it another time (all in the matter of 3 hours). Finally I was walking back to the garage where the car was and happened to walk down 31st while they were returning to quarters. I snapped a quick picture and yelled out good luck to the guys. They were exhausted and not in the mood for guests which I can definitely understand at 11:30 at night  :)

BTW: According to Engine 1 it is not considered Ladder 24's real truck until the horns are mounted on the front. If all goes well they should be mounted in the coming days.

R*1...sounds like you are correct on ENG*64 being the 4th co testing the E ONE............JOR ...i worked w/all the LCCs in LAD*132 great guys...Lenny J. RIP....Frank A....John A...Stan K. RIP......as i said i liked the rig in the short time i was there however i did not know about it being top heavy.......as far as the E ONE hose bed being high ...yes that was because of the motor being underneath the hose bed....that was why it was called HUSH since the front cab did not have the motor noise....all in all in the past rigs were tested in small numbers & a decision was made before ordering a large number like 54.

If You're talking about the Mack CF, I know one of them went down to Pennsville, NJ. It was in service as Truck 5. I believe that was 30 Trucks old Mack. Not sure if it's still in service.

Excellent pic and video.  It's good to see them starting to come online.

So, by my count that's (3) online so far - L-24, 81 & 137?

32-Truck has theirs too, and been to a few jobs with it also.

I spoke with several of the Officers & members and they have not had any major problems yet.

No no, this can't be.  Those rigs are terrible and are going to fail.  I've know this for weeks and weeks, before they were even delivered!  :p

Grump, I think you want to refer that one to "Johnd248". He remembers those days well. It was just the other day that somebody brought up something about the year 1971. That was also the year that Johnny "D" started collecting his Social Security.

But Grump, John D is the guy that should be able to help you out. If not try "mikeindabronx". I think he was around then too.

I did hear about that, but the members I talked to had not run across that problem yet.

Hopefully it will be repaired before they run across a problem!

I poked around.  This recall does not include the "ULTRA" chassis.
