FDNY Pumpers awarded to KME

Did anyone notice the front of 263's rig with the "NYFD" in lieu of "FDNY'?

OOPS......No.....the NYFD was noticed by my buddy from KME before he sent me those pics....The correct lettering was being corrected as soon as he got to the plant this morning

Just a quick update for those keeping track of the KMES. ..

As soon as FDNYSTATENISLAND gets a chance I asked him to please post some new pixs that I recently took.

E 283 completed the radio programming this morning and is back at the shops awaiting delivery to them.

E 46 at the shops awaiting delivery to them.

E 263 went to the Maspeth radio shop this afternnon for programming and yes the NYFD was changed to FDNY..

E 94 is being delivered to the shops tomm ( Tues ) morning .

E  ??? Is being delivered to radio installation shop in Brooklyn also tomm morning, ( possible SI unit )

NEXT WEEK....ONE rig will be delievered on TUES and ONE rig will be delievered on WED..( possibly 2 SI units )

KME will have met there contract agreement by delivering 31 NEW KME PUMPERS BY 12/31/14

The blue is a sign of solidarity with the NYPD

Don't know for sure, but would imagine that is up to the individual companies putting "the blue" on their rigs

OK,  l just read bout it and saw a bunch of pics. on city wide.

Blue "painters tape" was used on many rigs, although some companies may have used permanent striping.

Engine 167 has recieved their new KME. Now both Engine 167 and Tower Ladder 87 have new rigs.
