Trucks like LAFD and LAC have don't have the ability to carry the other equipment that the Tactical Support Units of FDNY have so they wouldn't fit the needs of FDNY.
This is very close to where we live and the entire series of events is still very confusing. There is still working to determine the exact order things happened in but there is speculation that the volunteer firefighter who is also a reserve police officer I have been hit by friendly fire.
What difference does what the trucks look like make? As long as they are able to carry the required equipment and get to the scene safely and quickly who cares what they look like? Besides, looks is in the eyes of the beholder and not everyone thinks the same thing looks good.
I guess it's so heavy they couldn't push it in so they had to have it in reverse while pushing? It looks more like a bus than it does a fire truck and it may be okay at a company that is real busy but it certainly wouldn't work for a company that is out of quarters more than they are in...

That's certainly true in some cases however as far as TL23 goes obviously weight isn't an issue because 44 states in quarters when relocating at that station.

Yes but the additional 20' of height is also a great benefit in many areas for many types of fires. Just like everything else you have to take the good with the bad and there are trade-offs in every case! Personally, in most situations I would deftly rather have the additional height!
