Why would E 295 be getting a Seagrave?  Was their unit damaged in Sandy?

Word is 73 should be taking delivery any day.  Where does pump testing occur?

In the past the pump test was always performed at Newtown Creek in Brooklyn..
For some reason the pump test for the KME'S were done at the factory area that is set up for it.
As far as the Seagraves I have no clue....From the picture I saw of 26 & 60s/, it looks like there drafting from a creek..

Seagrave conducts their pump test at a private lake in central jersey. It is on the property of Operating Engineers Training Facility.

As soon as I get more info regahe KMEs and Seagraves I will post it....in another FD group that I am a administrator with, we are lucky enough to have  one member that works for KME and  another that works for Seagrave...

Thanks bstan 270......in all the years that I have been associated with the FDNY, this is the first time a pump test was not performed in Newtown creek.....I remember going to the pump test in Greenpoimt Brooklyn when we got our 1980 ALF and 1993 Seagrave..

If the pumps still work after drafting from Newtown Creek you know they have to be good! ::)

Other than the CTS rig that was accepted, KME has also completed E 153....I am sure that they have or are close to completing at least one or two more rigs....Once the FDNY accepted deleivery of the first rig that was assigned to the CTS , KME went into full production. KNE has stated they would be able to produce 4 rigs per month. I believe the order for 91 rigs has been increased to 97 rigs and is a 3 year contract. By the time this contract is done bidding will start for the replacement of the 2008, 2009 and 2010 seagraves.

Also look for KME to make a bid on the new 21 rearmounts that the FDNY will be ordering.

Does anyone know how Boston's KME engines and rearmounts are doing? Feedback from BFD may provide some indication how these rigs will do for FDNY.

Interesting.....So full production has begun.  I've been at the Rock a few times over the last month and the KME has yet to make an appearance at CTS.  When do you think the first few companies will start actually putting these rigs in service?  (Whats the order of who's getting them?)

Kme was at the rock. Rumor has it that , it went back to kme.

I thought that full production wasn't going to begin until the 1st rig had been put in service and undergone testing by the members?  Has this changed because of how long it's taken?  Not good news that the rig for CTS an article back to KME.

Bulldog.....From what I was told once the FDNY  accepted the first rig, production will start on the rest of the order...
